Volunteer registration: Hollingdean estate - Thursday 21st February 2019

Registration is closed for this event

Thursday 21st February Hollingdean estate tree care volunteer day 10.00am - 3pm

Come and help with this community food tree growing project. With over 200 food trees ( fruit and nut) planted in the Hollingdean estates, this project aims to bring healthy organic food to people who can't necessarily afford it. The day will consist of tree care and planting. You will learn about the best ways to help trees grow big and strong with for example pruning, staking and mulching / feeding. On some of the days (we are running 3 of these days), you will also learn what we believe to be the best way to plant a fruit tree.

Please register to help out at this session. It really helps if we have an idea of how many volunteers to expect. You don't have to come for the whole daybut will need to call Stephan if you can't make the 10am meet up so you can find out where we are.

No experience is necessary and new volunteers are very welcome.

Your host

Stephan Gehrels

When you register you will receive an email which will give you his contact phone number in case you need to call him on the day.

Please bring

- Food and drink to sustain you for the day, flasks etc.
- Gardening gloves (if you have them)

Dress appropriately for weather conditions, sturdy boots, waterproofs, warm clothes, whatever weather dictates.
